Hinoki wood is grown for its very high quality timber where it is used as a material for building palaces, temples and shrines.
Hinoki Wood has a balsamic cedar-like clean smell. This material is distilled from wood chips and saw dust leftover from existing specialty custom woodworkers. No trees are cut down solely to produce the oil, but the material remaining from other existing uses is distilled. There are no pesticides or chemicals used to promote growth or kill insects because this is a natural occuring species with strong resistance and no real enemies.
