Naturally occurring mint hybrid Mentha cardiaca, also known as Scotchmint, is commonly cultivated for its oil and used to flavor Spearmint chewing gum. Scotchmint is a mint species within the Mentha genus. It's a sterile hybrid between Mentha arvensis (Cornmint) and Mentha spicata (Spearmint).
